The Pig at Harlyn Bay is open!
Our doors are open to the newest member of the litter, The Pig at Harlyn Bay, and we can’t wait to show you around! Dating back to the 15th century, this fully restored Cornish gem has far-reaching sea views over Harlyn Bay and the headland and miles of rambling coastline to explore on the doorstep.
With mellow Cornish stone buildings and courtyards, newly crafted stone houses, old slate floors and original features it certainly has the heart of a PIG but with its own unique personality and style. As we had originally planned to open in April, we already have bookings confirmed in August and September, but there is still some last minute limited availability for rooms. Why not get planning an early autumn escape to the North Cornish coast?
Or, why not join us for lunch or dinner if you already have your summer staycation booked? Take a peek around our patch on the North coast of Cornwall…
Just a short stroll from Harlyn beach and Constantine Bay beaches on the North Cornwall coast, our new PIG is only a 10-minute drive to the picturesque port of Padstow (where our good friends and Restaurateurs, Chefs Rick Stein and family, and Paul Ainsworth call home). Considered one of the safest and best family beaches in Cornwall, Harlyn Bay is a wide and spacious beach of yellow sand and pebbles with plenty of interesting rock pools backed by dunes. It is ideal for novice surfers and is an unbeatable bay for sea kayaking. For walkers there are stunning routes from the beach to Mother Ivey’s Bay and Trevose Head. It’s also only a stone’s skim over the water from the buzzy towns of Rock and Polzeath, so there is no shortage of things to do or local fun come serious sunshine or Poldark-inspired rain!
Seafood & Fizz at The Lobster Shed. The ultimate place to spend your summer Outdoor dining at its best… dig into some seriously fresh seafood and Kitchen Garden pickings, open daily in the gardens from 12 noon – 9pm.
Moody Tones and Cosy Corners. Oodles of quirks, original features and reclaimed materials. Lived-in cosy rooms filled with nautical nostalgia, soft velvets and linens, fantastical wallpapers and unusual artefacts…all paired with roaring fires, laid-back beats and your drinks on their way!
From our plot to your plate, our Gardeners and Chefs work hand-in-hand. Adam, our Head Chef at THE PIG-at Harlyn Bay, and his brigade work hand in hand with the Kitchen Gardeners, to create our 25-mile menu – daily garden pickings and produce from local farmers, small producers and fishermen who supply anything that we cannot grow, produce or catch ourselves.
In the heart of the house… Dine in our eclectic Restaurant or ‘farm-house’ style Scullery. We’ve got an obsessive commitment to home-grown and local produce: simple food done well. Dine in our light and airy rustic Scullery or the atmospheric Dining Room with its wood panelled walls and elaborate ceiling.
The Potting Sheds – Herbal Healing. At the bottom of the walled Kitchen Garden our two Potting Shed treatment rooms are quiet, calm and safe. As a guest you will be able to book full body treatments using natural and organic products, including massages, seaweed wraps and scrubs from VOYA.
And finally, rest your head in one of our characterful bedrooms. A unique mix of bedrooms in the Main House, Stonehouse Yard (some with their own terraces!) or choose an adventurous escape for two in a romantic Garden Wagon!
