The founder of the successful Koh Thai restaurant chain, Andy Lennox, is launching a new high-end Thai brand called Nusara. The first restaurant will open next month in the former site of Koh Thai in Christchurch, Bournemouth.
Nusara, he told the Dorset Echo, will be a “labour of love, born to create something truly special, a safe home, and a Mecca for Thai lovers everywhere.
“Nusara is about family, about exploring Thai food to its next level and deliver a truly exceptional dining experience.”
He added the restaurant in Castle Street would “combine the aged old tradition of fire grilling alongside time-honoured recipes with a balanced Thai menu of meat, fish and plant” and would deliver “an innovative healthy, fresh menu for Thai lovers everywhere to explore.”
Andy is re-entering the Thai food market some two years after he sold the Koh Thai brand he co-founded in 2009. He went on to open African eatery Zim Braai in Bournemouth and Poole.
In March, in response to the pandemic crisis, Andy launched a group bringing together hospitality business in Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch called The Wonky Table. It now represents over 500 businesses and aims to speak with one voice for the sector in these challenging times.
