Chunk of Devon

Way back in 2006 Simon and Suzi came across a small unit in Ottery St. Mary and saw it’s potential.

Their previous business had been award-winning fish and chip shops, where, although they made their own fish cakes and sausages, it was a great pie that they could never find. Chunk began!

It was their mission to create awesome pies (and pasties) you would be proud to call your own.

“Great food is the core, ‘pies that would impress your mates at a cold Sunday lunch in November’. Super tasty pies and pasties bold in flavour, packed with meat and veg products and dial down the pomposity” says Simon, a self-confessed pie addict!

NO gravy mixes, fake flavours or unnecessary additives in Chunk pies and pasties. Tasty, Special, Natural is the Chunk mantra. It’s paid off! Chunk now have a fantastic following across the country, but especially in the South West.

They have grown considerably in 15 years, now with a team of 40 and over 3 million products a year are enjoyed by their customers. This includes delis, farm shops, butchers, corner shops and of course the sporting venues, such as Wimbledon, Wembley, and closer to home Sandy Park – home of course, to Exeter Chiefs.

“Awards play a key part in any business and Taste of the West awards especially so. The South West has such an abundance of fantastic producers, when you win Taste of the West award – you can rightly be super proud.”

“Winning Five Gold Taste of the West awards in 2020, and to have a pie and a pasty jostling for place in the Champion Vegan Award this year, was incredibly exciting for all the team. We are truly proud to be winners.”
