Hospitality Association gifts Christmas toys to The Dorset Children’s Foundation

The BH Area Hospitality Association (BAHA) has donated £300 of locally-bought Christmas toys and gifts to Hot Radio’s Christmas Appeal.

BAHA, which represents hotels across the conurbation, purchased the toys from independent retailer Flaming Nora’s in Southbourne.

Hot Radio will hand all its donated gifts to The Dorset Children’s Foundation on December 16th in time for the charity – and Santa – to distribute them to sick and disabled local children for Christmas.

Tim Seward, Chair of BAHA, said: “The committee is delighted to be giving back to the community in this way. We are also very pleased to support the Coastal BID/BCP Search and Shop Local scheme by purchasing our gifts from Flaming Nora’s in Southbourne. It is heart-warming to know these toys will be making Christmas a little bit more special for 30 children.”

The Dorset Children’s Foundation is an independent charity dedicated to improving the lives of sick and disabled children living within the county.

Hot Radio has been asking local businesses and individuals to donate gifts throughout November and December, for the disadvantaged families and disabled children the charity helps.

BAHA presented its toys to Hot Radio’s Carlie Palmer and Jo Jones at the Marsham Court Hotel, Bournemouth, which is owned by the family of BAHA vice chair Rosie Radwell.

Rosie said: “It has been a tough year for everyone, including the many businesses in the local hospitality sector. But giving to such a great cause really captures the spirit of Christmas and a sense of hope for the year ahead.”

Carlie said: “We are so grateful to BAHA for its donations. These and the many other gifts which have been collected in recent weeks will spread some much-needed festive joy to local families.”

Donations can be made to Hot Radio’s Christmas Appeal up until December 16. The collection points are: Hot Radio, PRC Streamline Group, Marsham Court Hotel Bournemouth and The Dorset Children’s Foundation.
