Flight Club, a ‘social darts’ bar chain, is planning to open a site in Corn Street, Bristol. It will join their venues in Birmingham and Manchester plus the four running in London.
The concept is based around an updated version of darts with digital scoring for groups of friends to play while they enjoy cocktails and sharing plates. Before social distancing, groups of up to 20 people could book their own area to play in. Tracking technology keeps score and the board is integrated with a screen showing challenges and running the games.
Red Engine, the owners of Flight Club, have applied to open at 41 Corn Street. A spokesman told Bristol Live: “We absolutely love Bristol and hope to bring Social Darts and some unexpected, ridiculous joy to the south west in 2021. Once everything’s finalised we’ll be sure to share more updates on what we’ve got in store for Corn Street. Each Flight Club is completely unique, so we can’t wait to bring this to life when the time’s right.”
Last month, Propel revealed that Red Engine had secured almost £11m to help it through the pandemic, in the form of a £5.85m convertible loan note from existing shareholders and £5m through the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme. It also runs the Electric Shuffle bar concept, based around a high-tech take on shuffleboard.
