Sheppy’s Cider now deliverooed to your front door!

The latest buzz in and around Somerset is that Taunton based cider makers, Sheppy’s Cider, can now be delivered straight to your front door via Deliveroo!

Somerset locals can now enjoy premium craft cider from the comfort of their own homes whilst they wait for the local pubs to reopen, and with all the classic Sheppy’s favourites to choose from, there’s something to go with every takeaway. From the award-winning Sheppy’s 200 and Vintage Reserve, to the fruity favourites Raspberry with Cider and Elderflower, whether you’re ordering Indian, Chinese, classic fish and chips or splashing out with your favourite restaurant, you can now choose a cider to complement your dish.

David Sheppy, Managing Director of Sheppy’s Cider said: “As an independent brand with 200 years of cider making history behind us, we’re grateful that we’ve been able to adapt as a business during these difficult times to now offer a selection of our range on Deliveroo via Hubbox. Being able to offer home delivery via Deliveroo means we can continue to provide our award-winning cider to Somerset locals who are missing the pubs and restaurants, and give them the chance to recreate that experience from the comfort of their own home along with a delicious meal.”

Sheppy’s shares its top tips on how to pick the right cider for takeaway of choice…

Indian:
The best match to go alongside your spicy Indian (or mild korma, no judgement here) is a bottle of Sheppy’s Vintage Reserve. The oak matured Vintage Reserve has been carefully blended to produce an exceptional medium-dry and lightly sparkling cider. Drier cider goes with Indian food as it helps cut through the spice to make it a great combination.

Chinese:
If a Chinese is the takeaway of choice, Sheppy’s suggest grabbing a bottle its 200 to pair with it. This full-bodied, traditional, medium sweet cider has a light sparkle and is made from a blend of the finest home-grown and local cider fruit. Slightly sweeter ciders compliment Chinese dishes as they balance out the saltiness of the food, but the medium-sweet flavour means it isn’t overpowering.

Fish and chips:
A classic English staple of fish and chips deserves nothing better than being paired with a traditional Somerset cider. Sheppy’s suggest going for its classic Kingston Black Cider. This old and now rare apple variety is a high quality, crimson red fruit which gives Kingston Black its refreshingly crisp flavour. The crisp bite helps cut through the batter and compliments the fish excellently.

Sheppy’s is one of the oldest independent cidermakers in the world with a proud history that goes back more than 200 years. Under the watchful eye of David Sheppy, they continue to champion the same traditional methods, using rare crafting skills to produce the Sheppy’s range of award-winning, premium craft ciders.
