Rays Ice Cream in Swindon is in the market for new owners

Rays Ice Cream, the popular Swindon premium ice cream business is in the market for new owners. This is an exciting opportunity to purchase a well-established and growing ice cream business in Swindon, Wiltshire. The business, established in 2011, has grown from scratch to a turnover of £285,000 in a period of 9 years and now the owners are ready to move onto something new.

The business has a retail presence in the popular Old Town area of Swindon; a separate, purpose-built manufacturing facility; a new ecommerce home delivery arm; a growing wholesale customer base; as well as an events and pop-up shop capability. A combination of a small permanent team, an experienced summer season team, a local supply chain, two new websites with ecommerce capabilities means that this is an ideal turnkey business for a new owner to manage.

The brand is both well known and well regarded in the local area and boasts an active combined Facebook and Instagram following of almost 10,000 local users. All ice cream is home made by the team in a huge variety of flavours. People in Swindon don’t go for ice cream, they go for Rays!

The business went from strength to strength during the pandemic and established a brand new home delivery sales capability. There is clear room for growth within the business across the retail, wholesale and events channels.

There are two commercial leases. One for the manufacturing facilities (currently £8,125 pa) and the retail site (currently £7,300 pa). Otherwise there are no long term contractual commitments.

The business has been priced at £299,000 for an Asset Sale including the two commercial leases described above.
