Capreolus pairs up for new ways to experience their seductive flavours

“Good things come in pairs” is an old Chinese saying that rings particularly true for Capreolus.

Charcuterie is the ultimate ‘pairing and sharing’ experience so when we’re planning a ‘meaty platter’ gathering with our favourites we would generally grab a bottle (or two) of something ‘grapey’; right?

But, in true epicurean spirit (pardon the pun) David and Karen of Capreolus couldn’t have been more thrilled to pair up recently (virtually and separately of course) with Dima’s Vodka and Thornbridge Brewery to curate some winning combos. Introducing and innovating new ways to experience the seductive flavours of their award winning curations is a ‘win win’.

Charcuterie and Beer
During the pandemic Capreolus partnered with Thornbridge Brewery to hold a Zoom tasting event run by The Camden Grocer.
Prior to the event participants were sent 6 different bottles of beer and 6 different types of charcuterie that Thornbridge and Capreolus had previously chosen as being a good match.

Charcuterie and Vodka – pushing the Brit boundaries
When Dima’s contacted Capreolus to pair some charcuterie to serve with their sipping ‘three grain’ vodka it was very much a ‘sip sip hooray’ from the West Dorset epicureans. The tastings included the Capreolus 3 star Dorset Coppa, Pork & Venison Pepperoni and Dorset Air Dried Beef creating a unique sensory experience for the nose and mouth. What’s not to like?

Capreolus says: “We’ve been curating our Charcuterie for over a decade so we’re not ‘flash in the pan’. For us to create award winning charcuterie we have to keep innovating and pushing the boundaries. Charcuterie is more than food; it’s an experience shared so it made perfect sense for us to pair up with artisan brands Dima’s and Thornbridge. Both pairings were a fantastic complementary accompaniment to our charcuterie and we have had some great feedback. We’re excited to test other pairing ‘waters’. Watch this space“.

Camden Grocer says: “For us, there is nothing we love better than collaborating with like-minded food producers, and so the opportunity to combine the best in British Charcuterie from Capreolus with craft beer from Thornbridge Brewery was a bit of a no-brainer! Hosting the event virtually presented a new challenge, but ultimately the event was a hit with the participants and demonstrated that beer and charcuterie truly are perfect partners! We can’t wait to get back to hosting similar events in-person in our store.”

Dima’s founder says: “As a premium, triple grain vodka at just £35 a bottle, Dima’s was created to be sipped and savoured, whilst bringing people together over good food and long conversations. In Ukraine, vodka is commonly served with multi-course dinners and often chosen over wine as an accompaniment to meat and cheeseboards. We worked with Capreolus to pick some tapas style charcuterie to accompany our tasting. The fattiness of the meat not only lines the stomach but softens the vodka to create a well-balanced easy-drinking flavour combination”.
