TiramisUGO now available at top London deli

Artisan tiramisu brand TiramisUGO – which was founded in Cornwall by ‘The Cornish Italian‘, Ugo Massabo – has made it to the shelves of Panzer’s Deli in London, one of the capital’s most famous and best-loved food emporiums. The award-winning tiramisu will be stocked alongside other carefully curated food and drink products from around world, each of which has been chosen on merit by the team of food experts.

Ugo commented: “I am delighted that TiramisUGO has launched in London, and that such an iconic food hall has chosen to showcase our small-batch product. Exciting times lie ahead for the brand – we’ve used these challenging months as a launch pad to great things!”

Ugo began making his tiramisu to a family recipe in 2018, bringing together his Italian heritage and the finest ingredients – including St Ewe Eggs from his Cornish neighbours.

It proved an instant hit at farmers markets and food stores across the Duchy, and Ugo now makes versions with chocolate or rum, plus vegan or gluten free versions. Every batch is freshly handmade, and the product is free from additives and preservatives; thanks to the freshness and quality of the ingredients, TiramisUGO naturally keeps for at least 10 days in the fridge.

Ugo commented: “The team at Panzer’s loved the authenticity and flavour of these desserts, but they also loved the versatility of the long fridge life and the fact that it comes in environmentally-friendly glass jars. I think they could clearly see the passion and dedication which epitomises the brand.”

Ugo is now busy expanding his offering and reaching new customers with typical flare, thanks to his entertaining short films. Last year, when the global pandemic threatened to derail Ugo’s business plans, he launched The Cornish Italian – a range of authentic Italian meal packs which can be sent across the UK.

Ugo explains: “The Cornish Italian is a fledgling food company steeped in personality and passion, culture and community. My mission is to take this honest, heart-felt food to the finest delis and legendary food markets – like Panzer’s – and to family kitchen tables across the UK.”

Fans of Ugo’s food in Cornwall will be used to seeing his three-wheel ‘tiramisu-mobile’ out on delivery and at events, a sight which customers in the capital will have to do without: “She just wouldn’t make it that far unfortunately.” says Ugo.

When the product does arrive in London, it will be in good company; Panzer’s has been luring food-lovers to St John’s Wood for more than 75 years with artisan British and European cheeses, charcuterie, Scottish smoked salmon and an extensive range of the most remarkable and hard-to-find world foods.
