Kaleidoscope Collection adds third hotel to South West portfolio

Boutique hotelier Kaleidoscope Collection has bought Bishopstrow Hotel & Spa in Wiltshire to add to its portfolio. The Bath-based company purchased it for a price in the region of £5.5 million in a sale handled by Matthew Smith from the Knight Frank Hotels team. The 19th century, 32-bedroom country house hotel and spa will join Kaleidoscope’s The Bird, in Bath and Homewood, just outside the city.

Bishopstrow Hotel & Spa is set in 27-acres of countryside and is located near Longleat and Stonehenge as well as the World Heritage city of Bath.

Ian and Christa Taylor, owners of Kaleidoscope Collection, said: “The hospitality sector has arguably been hit harder than any other both within the local and national economy. But it has the potential to bounce back stronger than ever before. We understand that there was significant interest in Bishopstrow Hotel & Spa from investors both in terms of its heritage and a spike in the staycation market as a direct consequence of the pandemic.”
