Taste of the West’s Hospitality & Retail Awards 2022 now open for entries!

Taste of the West is thrilled to announce they have restructured their prestigious awards scheme, allowing entries from all South West hospitality and retail establishments throughout all 12 months of the year. The 2022 Hospitality and Retails Awards programme is now open for entries.

John Sheaves, CEO of Taste of the West commented “The pandemic has been a real kick in the teeth for the majority of hospitality businesses and thank goodness we had a half decent summer trading period in 2021. We now have to focus on 2022, and to help these businesses maximise their potential for the new season and beyond, we have made our scheme easier to enter and easier to gain valuable feedback on the ‘front of house’ experience”.

“We have invested in additional resources and personnel to enable this to happen so that we can offer a new, improved level of service for 2022, and we look forward to developing promotional partnerships with South West food and drink businesses. Our membership organisation has been going strong for 30 years. If your establishment is as passionate about local food and drink as we are, we want you to enter! Don’t miss out on the opportunity to turn your business into an award-winning one for 2022.”

The new hospitality and retail awards scheme has been launched in response to direct feedback from Taste of the West members, and in response to the ongoing pandemic, specifically with the aim of helping this sector recover through focused and effective marketing and promotion.

The Taste of the West Awards programme has been promoting and supporting the South West food and drink industry for three decades and is now the region’s most prestigious, sustainable food and drink awards programme. All entrants are visited anonymously by a Taste of the West judge and receive a detailed evaluation report with constructive feedback on a number of criteria on the front of house experience – including commitment to and communication of local sourcing, as well as the quality of food & drink, quality of service, atmosphere and ambience etc. A Gold, Silver or Commended award offers many promotional and PR opportunities for award-winning establishments.

Members of Taste of the West receive FREE entry into the programme as one of the benefits of membership and can now enter at any time during their membership year, in any category of their choice.

Further details on entry or membership can be found on the Taste of the West website at www.tasteofthewest.co.uk/business/awards. Establishments can also email awards@tasteofthewest.co.uk to register their interest in entering the awards programme, or call the Taste of the West team on 01404 822012.
