Rave Coffee introduces the Love Lane Blend, a lighter, brighter tastebud exciter

Responding to the nation’s changing tastes and go-to brews, Rave Coffee has released its first new blend in years; Love Lane Blend No.15. Named after the roastery’s beloved street in Cirencester, this blend celebrates Rave’s roots while combining lighter roasted coffees that represent the classic flavours of their respective regions in Colombia, Ethiopia and Kenya.

The Love Lane Blend has been developed to allow the drinker to taste its individual components, their complexity and how they complement each other. With tasting notes of blackberry, melon and cocoa nib, the flavours dance around the palate and offer bright notes, sweetness, subtlety and ultimately a great balance.

Bridging the gap between the medium and light roasted single origin coffees that have become so popular and Rave’s darker roasted blends, this coffee is ideal as a black filter coffee or as a short espresso drink with milk. The Colombian component comes from the smallholders of Buesaco Narino and delivers epic sweetness and full-bodied flavour, while the ‘natural’ processed Ethiopian has the quintessential regional flavours of floral fruits and delicate aromatics. Finally, the Kenyan peaberry varietal adds black fruit notes and a light cocoa nib finish.

Ashlee Eastwood-Quinn, head of coffee at Rave Coffee, commented: “Over the past few years we’ve noticed the appetite for lighter roasted coffees growing, alongside the thirst for more coffee knowledge and an understanding of the provenance and unique flavour profile of each bean. The popularity of home espresso and smaller milk based drinks has also been increasing and coffees that work well in your typical 12oz latte, tend not to be the same coffees that make an exceptional cortado! So we decided it was time to launch our first new blend identity in some time. Named after our home in Cirencester, we’ve created a blend that defines how the coffee industry is changing.”

Rave Coffee’s Love Lane Blend No.15 will be available to purchase at ravecoffee.co.uk from Friday 19 November, priced at £8.25 for 250g or £28.05 for 1kg. Rave’s 1% for the Planet commitment will see 1% of all sales donated to environmental causes, regardless of profit.
