BoxHall Bristol, the new food hall concept led by award-winning dining, retail and leisure operators BOXPARK, has just announced a partnership with Josh Eggleton, award-winning Bristol-born and bred chef.
Highly committed to local people and produce, BoxHall Bristol will feature only the best local and independent restaurants and street food traders. The business has enlisted the support of Josh Eggleton, who is also co-owner of the Pony & Trap, the Bristol Michelin-starred gastropub, to play an instrumental role in the curation of food and drink at the venue.
As part of his role as F&B Ambassador, Josh Eggleton will advise BoxHall Bristol during the trader selection process to ensure the concept showcases the true breadth of local, independent food and drink businesses that operate out of the City.
In addition, BoxHall will be the new home to Josh Eggleton’s ‘Team Canteen’ initiative – designed to support underrepresented communities in the City through food. Launched earlier this year, Team Canteen was set up at Breaking Bread as a production kitchen and a space for food pop-ups, cooking demonstrations and workshops to feed disadvantaged people and communities during the pandemic. With a dedicated space at BoxHall Bristol, the Team Canteen community kitchen will highlight a range of diverse dishes and people from around Bristol.
With its passion for local produce, BoxHall Bristol also plans to serve craft beer from Josh Eggleton’s local brewery, the Bristol Beer Factory. Alongside this, the bar will offer a premium, high-quality range of craft beers.

Josh Eggleton, Bristol-based chef restaurateur comments: “Being so heavily involved with many independent food and drink projects in Bristol, I was intrigued to see such an imaginative F&B concept coming to the City. BoxHall Bristol will be a fantastic community space and I’m excited to be involved in building its roster of Bristol-based traders. The pandemic inspired me to focus more on giving back to the community and I’m pleased to announce that BoxHall will be the new home to Team Canteen, so we can continue feeding those in need whilst championing local, independent chefs and incredible food.”
Scheduled to open next summer, BoxHall will feature a roster packed full of acclaimed Bristol-based chefs and offer an all-day social dining experience including food, drinks and a complementary programme of events, all under one roof. The community-led events schedule will provide a curated mix of live music, local art shows, screenings and gaming experiences.
BoxHall is set to create a vibrant 20,000 sq.ft venue delivering a premium, unique food and beverage offer, which will generate over 100 local job opportunities and house up to 10 food businesses. The site was granted a license in August following positive support from the local community.
