Welsh football star Gareth Bale wants to bring his brand new adventure golf bar – Par 59 – to Bristol after a successful opening in Cardiff.
The Wales captain, working with Welsh independent entertainment brand The Depot, is thought to have lined up a site in Millennium Parade in Bristol’s Harbourside area for an opening later this year, according to Propel. A licence application reveals the company is aiming the venue at over-18s and opening to 1.30am on Thursdays, Friday and Saturday nights.
It would join the first Par 59 which opened on March 18th in Cardiff’s St Mary Street on the site of the former Liquid/Life nightclub. Bale’s company, the Elevens Group, is working with Cardiff property advisors Fletcher Morgan on a series of new openings with sites in Exeter, Bath, Newcastle, Southampton, Liverpool, Manchester, and Edinburgh being considered. Dubai is also understood to be on the target list.
As well as multiple mini-golf courses, Par 59 features a premium drinks offering and a food menu that features burgers, buttermilk chicken, starters, and grazing plates to enjoy between rounds. The name Par 59 comes from a score “that only a handful of golfers have ever shot…”
The official website says: “Par 59 brings the competitive world of golf to Cardiff city centre. Inspired by elite performance, our underground venue is custom designed to bring people together.
“It’s home to a premium bar, independent kitchen, space for laid-back, casual dining, and two custom-designed mini-golf courses boasting 9 holes each. Located in the heart of St Mary Street, Cardiff, Par 59 is the perfect place to socialise, relax, and feed your competitive edge.”
