Independent bakery chain Cornish Bakery has outperformed all rivals in top line sales and density rankings for the last 12 months in all of its designer outlet locations. These impressive stats land as the company secures itself as one of the top 10 fastest growing bakery brands in the UK in the recent British Baker’s Bakery Market Report.
Cornish Bakery locations at Portsmouth’s Gunwharf Quays, Bideford’s Affinity Village Somerset’s Clark’s Village, Braintree Village and Gloucester Quays are outperforming all competitors in the sector. These designer outlet-based bakeries form a vital part of the independent company’s now 54 strong UK-wide estate, with at least 10 new bakeries opening in the next 12 months including Caledonia Park at Gretna Green.
These high-performance figures are in keeping with Cornish Bakery’s pattern nationally, with all 54 bakeries in growth and exceeding expectations versus pre-pandemic levels. Coffee sales are in particularly significant growth as is the average spend per customer, and the set of new branded and styled locations are returning distinctly high yield results.
Cornish Bakery Founder Steve Grocutt says, “These impressive performance stats prove yet again that bakery is the new coffee shop. We are keen to increase the estate and we would like to hear from any UK-based designer outlets that would be interested in hosting one of the fastest growing, independent bakery brands in the UK.”
