Gin fit for a Queen!

The dedicated team of four at the Somerset Distillery have spent the last 8 months perfecting the distillation of their latest 2 gins. The results of this patient work are The Leveller Premium and Platinum Jubilee gins.

The Leveller is a premium gin and the name is a nod towards the Somerset Levels. As with their London Dry the taste is big enriched with cardamom and cinnamon. This gin weighs in at 43% ABV and is being marketed as the distillery’s Premium gin.

A little research uncovered the fact that Her Majesty is known to be fond of a Gin and Dubonnet Cocktail. Armed with this, Simon Green set about distilling a gin that has a very particular and floral flavour with an ingenious recipe incorporating black berry leaves, heather tips, grains of paradise and lavender.

As with their London Dry Gin these latest two do not involve too many botanicals which the team feel creates an over-complicated flavour. “Less is more”, is Simon’s mantra with only 7 botanicals in The Leveller and 9 in the Platinum Jubilee gin.

Available either through the distillery or exclusively through the renowned drinks distributor LWC these Somerset Gins are carefully created spirits with rich and distinct flavours.

To find out more, visit the website at www.somersetdistillery.com, or follow them on Facebook and Instagram. You can contact LWC Drinks by email at  wiltshire@lwc-drinks.co.uk or by calling 01249 474230.
