Award-winning restauranteur Andy Lennox has announced the third site for his Thai concept, Nusara. The founder of the Koh Thai brand plans to open a 115-cover restaurant in the centre of Wimborne, Dorset in early August.
Following the first Nusara which opened in Christchurch in November 2020, and the second located in the ex-Royal Navy command headquarters building in Poole from August 2021, the new site will create 25 new full and part-time roles. It promises to “combine the age-old tradition of fire grilling alongside time-honoured recipes with a balanced Thai menu of meat, fish and plant.” The venue will include a Chiang Mai Garden, terrace, and treehouse restaurant. Lennox said a fourth site could potentially open this year.
He told Propel, “Nusara was born out of covid and not something that we planned. I’m proud to see we’ve managed to create something special out of such a tough time – it’s great to have such an amazing group of people in the room for something that is a bit of a passion project and to open three sites in what will be just over 18 months is nothing short of remarkable and is a testament to the team we have here.”
The brand is part of Lennox’s Fired Up Collective, which also includes Zim Brai, a southern African-inspired restaurant and the Old Thatch Pub, all in Dorset. Lennox said: “Each of our brands stand out for fantastic service, great value and amazing food all wrapped up in an infectious atmosphere. With six sites under the belt in a very short time, it will be exciting to see how the brand develops.”
