South West food & drink reaches new national markets via Ocado

Taste of the West is excited to expand their range of South West food and drink available on Ocado, the online grocery store, with the latest new listing of Rattler Original Cornish Cider and Rattler Cornish Pear Cider, brewed by Healey’s Cornish Cyder Farm.

Named after the feisty Cornish Rattler apple and blended with Healey’s know-how, Rattler Cider has a crisp, fresh flavour and a real zing that makes it the go-to cider for partying, socialising or chilling in Cornwall. And it’s now available to cider lovers throughout the UK via Ocado. From this month, Ocado customers can buy Rattler Original in multi-packs and single bottles of Rattler Pear Cider.

Online supermarket Ocado.com was established in 2000 and is one of Britain’s leading online retailers. Now a 50:50 joint venture between Ocado Group and Marks & Spencer Group plc, they deliver to over 74% of the UK with over 50,000 products available to customers via the Ocado website or mobile app. Taste of the West supplies Ocado with a small, select range of quality food and drink products which are all baked/made/brewed/distilled in the South West by small to medium size producers.

Taste of the West offers these producers an affordable way to supply Ocado by having one delivery point in the region. The products are then consolidated onto pallets with other food and drink from the area for onward delivery to the seven Ocado Customer Fulfilment Centres around the UK. Taste of the West also supports producers with the listing process, marketing and promotions on Ocado.

John Sheaves, Chief Executive of Taste of the West, said: “Rattler will be a great boost to the range and will bring the well known Cornish brand into homes around the country. This is a fantastic opportunity for us to help develop sales of this top quality product via one of the country’s leading online food retailer. Forming partnerships and developing trade is what we do best so I am delighted to support this high profile Cornish brand“.

Megan Britton from Healey’s Cornish Cyder Farm said “We are delighted to see Rattler Cyder become the latest addition to Ocado’s cider range. The platform allows us to service a much wider audience who may never have had access to the brand previously. Huge thanks to TOTW for their continued support in championing South West Food & Drink. ”
