PKIPA is back! The smash-hit West Coast IPA is bigger and bolder than ever.

Powderkeg Brewery’s fan-favourite ‘PKIPA’ is making a return this month and the cans – produced on the new canning line – will be the first Powderkeg product to sport their new plastic-free labels.

West Coast IPA’s are much loved for their heavy hopping, tasty bitterness and full body, and Powderkeg’s 6.0% ABV with Simcoe, Mosaic, Amarillo and Chinook certainly hits the spot. While some of their limited edition beers are brand new each year, they also bring back firm favourites to satisfy the loyalists – and take them one step closer to perfection. This will be PK IPA’s fourth iteration, and the team has been tweaking again.

“We’re always aiming at excellence,” says Head Brewer, John Magill, “and while PKIPA has been great, we wanted to progress it still further. So we’ve edged the bitterness down a touch, and adjusted the blend of big-hitting American hops. We’re also releasing it filtered for the first time – previously it was in its raw, hazy form, but whilst that has certainly been popular, we felt it was actually detracting from the overall drinking experience. And that’s all that counts for us – it’s far more important that it drinks exceptionally rather than just looking good on Instagram!”

PK IPA picked up a bronze medal in the regional SIBA Awards’ hotly contested IPA category in 2021, so with the addition of a new recipe and served bright it’s sure to be a knockout this autumn.

PKIPA is available now in 30L keg, 9g cask and 440ml cans. Please email orders@powderkegbeer.co.uk for order information.
