The finalists have been announced for the 21st annual Cornwall Tourism Awards

The Finalists have been announced for the 21st year of the Cornwall Tourism Awards which will be presented in Truro Cathedral on 17th November 2022.

After three months of judging, 63 finalists have been announced for this year’s Cornwall Tourism Awards. All will be in suspense until the Awards Ceremony in Truro Cathedral, when they will learn whether they have won Gold, Silver or Bronze awards. A further 7 receive Commended status.

The annual competition is now in its 21st year, with plenty of changes along the way as the awards have evolved in parallel to the industry itself. This year’s awards have taken ever greater account of entrants’ commitment to the environment and community, as well as displaying an exemplary digital presence. The awards organisers have evolved too, this year winning their own ‘Outstanding’ accreditation in the Awards TrustMark scheme.

Winners will be announced at a glittering ceremony in Truro Cathedral on 17 November, with successful businesses in many categories fast tracked into the South West Tourism Excellence Awards in March 2023 and possibly invited to represent Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly in the 2023 national VisitEngland Awards, in which Cornwall has often excelled.

Deborah Heather, Director of headline sponsors Quality in Tourism, says: “Quality in Tourism is delighted to once again Headline Sponsor the Hospitality and Tourism Awards supporting the Cornish Sector to maximise their impact and performance. We are always astounded by the quality of the product, the ingenuity of the industry and the dynamic nature of the sector as a whole, there is truly something for everyone in Cornwall.”

Awards organiser Robin Barker of Services for Tourism commented: “After a tough two years for tourism it has been gratifying to see so many tourism businesses excelling, demonstrating their passion for the industry, and showing their commitment to both the environment and community in which they operate. My heartfelt congratulations to them all.”

The 23 award categories cover everything from dog friendly, active experiences and cafes to glamping, hotels and pubs. A Winner of Winners title, a Tourism Leadership award and special Outstanding Contribution to Tourism award will also be presented on the night.
