Devon Hampers is to increase its offering by providing fulfilment services to the food and drink industry to help businesses with storing, packaging, dispatching and delivering orders.
The fast growing west Devon-based business already operates a thriving online hamper business. However, increased capacity at its Lifton headquarters, where it moved in 2020, alongside its ability to leverage its purchasing power means it is able to offer very competitive fulfilment rates. It will offer a comprehensive service for fulfilment from a single logistics centre including for fresh produce.
Devon Hampers CEO Adam Fox-Edwards said: “By choosing Devon Hampers for their fulfilment, businesses will be able to enhance their customer offering and significantly boost sales. The new service will allow businesses to commit their time and resources previously dedicated to logistics to what is even more key: building products, building product awareness on their own platforms, providing professional customer service and growing their corporate and gifting business. They will also maintain high-quality delivery even during sale peaks and will not have to worry about having to invest in professional warehouses and storage equipment.”
Devon Hampers will undertake all the steps from receiving an order to placing that order in the customers’ hands significantly reducing the workload of small and medium businesses. Mr Fox-Edwards said: “The increase in e-commerce can be limited by capabilities of small businesses, including warehousing and shipping, but we can handle a large number of orders within a very short time, supporting businesses so that they can grow.”
Devon Hampers was established in 2014 by Mr Fox-Edwards, a former squadron leader with the RAF, who in 1997 was seconded to Buckingham Palace to organise the Queen’s Golden wedding celebrations.
It provides fulfilment for Flapjackery, a west Devon-based business that specialises in flapjacks, Salcombe Distilling Co, Zest and Floreat. It has delivered in excess of 200,000 hampers, with Chanel, LLoyds Bank and St James’ Place Wealth Management among its clients.
