Capreolus Fine Foods merges with Deli Farm Charcuterie

Capreolus Fine Foods and Deli Farm Charcuterie today announce that they have reached an agreement to merge.

Production of the Deli Farm range will move to Capreolus’s site in West Dorset, where the Capreolus team will continue to make products using meat with the same Cornish provenance for which Deli Farm is known.

Both companies have been producing the highest quality charcuterie for many years and as Deli Farm’s partners, Martin and Jean Edwards, have decided the time has come to stop production as they plan for their retirement, Capreolus will continue the excellent work that they started. Martin Edwards said, “We are so pleased to team up with Capreolus who we have known almost since they started. We know they will continue to make our products with the same care and attention to detail that we have strived to achieve. It is also very important to us that they will keep the provenance of our products by continuing to use Cornish meat.”

The merger will strengthen Capreolus’s presence in the growing British charcuterie sector and enhance its already broad product range. David Richards of Capreolus Fine Foods said, “The British charcuterie sector is coming of age, and joining with Deli Farm, another strong and well-respected brand, helps to cement our position at the top of this increasingly important growth area of British food manufacturing. I look forward to working with Jean, whose feel for how flavours combine to make delicious charcuterie has been recognised regionally and nationally for many years”.

Between the two companies, over the last three years alone, they have won 13 golds at the Taste of the West Awards; and at the Great Taste Awards they have eight products that have been awarded the maximum three stars, with several other products with one and two stars.

John Sheaves, the Chief Executive of the Taste of the West (the largest independent regional food group in the UK), said, “It gives me the greatest pleasure that Capreolus and Deli Farm have decided to merge. They are two of the best-known producers of British charcuterie, both operating to the very highest standards of quality and provenance. Together they will be a formidable force in this increasingly important growth sector.”
