Circumstance Distillery announced today that one rare bottle of their inaugural English whisky will be auctioned via Whisky Auctioneer later this month.
All proceeds will be going to the charity Shelter, and whisky lovers from the UK and beyond are invited to place their bids on Bottle 02 of Circumstance English Whisky from 22nd December.
The single grain whisky was created from malted barley (85%) and unmalted barley (15%) that was processed by hand at Warminster Maltings. The grains were fermented on a French saison yeast for an extraordinary 14 days before being distilled in an 1800L hybrid still with a copper whisky hood and copper 4 plate column.
The flavoursome new make matured in first-fill ex-bourbon casks at the distillery for over three years. A golden straw colour with aromas of scrumpy cider, lemon and milk chocolate, the liquid has a hay like sweetness with cream soda and delicate spice finished off with a hint of zesty savouriness.
Circumstance released just 518 numbered bottles of its long-awaited first release in September this year and received an extraordinary response from the Distillery’s loyal followers and supporters, selling out online in less than 10 minutes.
