Want a slice? Pizza Jockeys comes to Falmouth

The team behind Pizza Jockeys has announced the opening of a permanent Falmouth site, with dough being spun from Friday 20th January.

Located on Market Strand, Pizza Jockeys Falmouth will be the first permanent base for the restaurant, following two years of seasonal pop-ups at Fore Street Café in Newquay.

Visitors to Pizza Jockeys can expect incredible sourdough pizza such as Porco Rosso (tomatoes, mozzarella, chorizo, ‘Nduja, red onion, piquanté peppers, with a honey and garlic glaze), or the bestseller, Cheesy Marmite Garlic Bread (mozzarella, marmite, confit garlic, honey and rosemary oil). Weekly specials will also be on offer, and those familiar with the Newquay menu will be delighted to know that Frozen Margaritas are here to stay, as well as a selection of other cocktails, mocktails, wine and soft drinks. Sitting alongside in the drinks fridge will be guest beers and ales from Cornish breweries, including Jubel, Newquay Brewing Project and Goodh Brewery.

With a reputation of being lovably quirky, the interiors of Pizza Jockeys are no different. Inside, one wall is adorned in a mural by local artist, Danielle Smith, whilst the other features a cassette collection and old records replace drinks mats.

Commenting on the opening, Becky Bane, Owner of Pizza Jockeys said: “Since we started Pizza Jockeys as a concept in lockdown, it’s always been our dream to have a full-time location. Thanks to the support of our local community, customers and suppliers, the dream has become a reality. We want to create a fun, chilled vibe, where everyone feels welcome and you can get reliable, good quality food, matched with some tasty drinks too, of course. We look forward to welcoming new and old customers through the door for a fun, chilled pizza party soon!”

Pizza Jockeys will be open between 5.00pm and 9.00pm, Wednesday to Saturday and booking is advisable. The menu includes vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free options. The team will do the best they can to accommodate other dietary requirements.

Pizza Jockeys is recruiting part-time and full-time chefs – for those interested, please email info@pizzajockeys.co.uk. To stay up to date with specials and the goings on, follow @pizzajockeys on Instagram. Pizza Jockeys is located at: 2 Market Strand, Falmouth, TR11 3DB.
