Godminster Cheddar reimagined to celebrate the spirit of Somerset

Introducing mythical creatures from the rolling hills of Somerset including the Bruton Beauty and Howling Hound, organic cheddar producer Godminster has revealed its new-look waxed cheeses.

Crafted with the modern cheese lover in mind, these untraditional truckles now brim with the myth, mystery, taste and tradition that represents Godminster’s innate relationship with the countryside.

Launching with four organic waxed cheddars, Godminster will now tell ancient stories of Wessex that are deeply rooted in both farming and cheesemaking in the West Country, some originating from Bruton itself, where the producer is based.

The range now features multi award-winning flagship cheddar Vintage Bruton Beauty, Oak Smoked Cheyney’s Fortune, Red Chilli Devil’s Dance and Black Truffle Howling Hound. All are tied to mythical creatures that are said to inhabit the ancient lands of Wessex, representing forces like protection and good fortune that are so important to those working hand in hand with the land.

Available in round, heart-shaped and star-shaped waxed truckles, Godminster cheddar is the perfect cheese for gifting and designed to be the talk of the cheeseboard, wherever it may appear. The range is completed by a selection of gift sets, crackers, condiments and accompaniments.

Following more than two decades of cheesemaking and many of the industry’s most prestigious awards, Godminster cheddar will now transport cheese lovers to the heart of Wessex, where landscape and legend intertwine.

Godminster’s new-look organic cheddars will be available to purchase from Tuesday 18 April in 200g, 400g, 1kg and 2kg waxed truckles. Stockists include Waitrose, Ocado, Selfridges, Harrods and many independent cheesemongers and farm shops across the UK, while all products are also available to buy direct from www.godminster.com.
