Flapjackery announces new manager for its popular Barbican shop in Plymouth

Flapjackery, the renowned makers of hand-made gluten-free flapjacks, has announced the appointment of a new manager at its popular shop located on the Barbican in Plymouth. The announcement comes as Flapjackery opens a new pop up shop in the heart of Dartmouth, opposite the Boat Float.

Matt Davies, who brings with him a wealth of experience from previous roles in the hospitality industry will now be leading the operations at the Barbican shop after completing three-months baking flapjacks at the company’s headquarters in Tavistock.

Matt said: “I genuinely love flapjacks, and it was great to learn how they are made before taking up the manager’s role as it gives you a full understanding of the business.

He added: “I love the energy of being on the Barbican. It’s a charming area full of quaint buildings, and great views over the harbour. I’m getting to know the locals, and we have quite a few locals who are regulars. It’s great building a community with them.”

Flapjackery is known for its diverse range of flavors, pushing the boundaries beyond the traditional. From Cherry Bakewell to Clotted Cream Fudge, Caramel Latte, and Salted Caramel Brownie, there are flapjacks for every taste.

“I’m excited to be a part of Flapjackery. I really do love this company. Flapjacks and all the other treats make people happy. They are products that bring joy. Also, we’re not producing anything that goes to landfill or creates unnecessary waste. It’s a consumable product sold in recyclable packaging,” Matt adds.

Flapjackery takes pride in crafting handmade flapjacks in Devon, using only British oats and locally sourced West Country ingredients, ensuring a fantastic, rich, and crumbly taste. Their commitment to excellence has earned them 12 Taste Of The West awards for their outstanding flapjacks.

To celebrate the summer season on the Barbican, Flapjackery is offering a free quiz for children, with a chocolate beanie lolly for every participant who completes the quiz. Additionally, customers can enjoy a loyalty card, earning a free flapjack once completed.
