Flapjackery expands its flapjack empire with a new shop in Sidmouth

Flapjackery, the renowned confectionery brand celebrated for its delectable gluten-free flapjacks and an assortment of sweet treats, is thrilled to announce the opening of its ninth shop, in Sidmouth. Located on Fore Street, the new store will offer its delicious range of confectionery, including its signature chunks of flapjacks, chocolate clusters, fudge, chocolate bars, honeycomb, chocolate beans, and Turkish delight.

Flapjackery, established by Sally Jenkin and Carol Myott, emerged from their shared passion for home baking. What began as a humble endeavour selling cakes at a local farmers market in Tavistock soon gained recognition for their indulgent flapjacks, available in an array of flavours and adorned with various toppings. Whether it’s the irresistible Rocky Road, the beloved Cherry Bakewell, or the delightful Honeycomb, Flapjackery offers a taste for everyone while proudly maintaining a gluten-free status across its range of products.

“Flapjackery is more than just a confectionery shop; it’s a place of vibrant colours and warmth, where our flapjacks take centre stage,” said Carol, who now leads the business alongside her brother Hugh. “We’re thrilled to bring our flapjack joy to Sidmouth, known for its wonderful atmosphere and a bustling mix of locals and visitors.”

As part of their commitment to giving back to the community, Flapjackery Sidmouth has chosen to support the local RNLI as its nominated charity. For every customer who opts not to use a paper bag or box for their flapjacks, the company will donate 20p to the charity. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds from their special charity flapjacks will also go to the RNLI.

Flapjackery, which initially launched in 2015, established its flagship store in Tavistock in 2019. The brand has since expanded its presence with stores in Plymouth, Minehead, Wells, St Ives, Bath, and Fowey, in addition to a pop-up location in Dartmouth and an outlet at Fordmore Farmshop near Cullompton. Alongside its brick-and-mortar stores, Flapjackery maintains a thriving online business and participates in shows and events throughout the UK.

Despite the widespread acclaim and popularity for Flapjackery flapjacks, each one is meticulously handcrafted at its Tavistock headquarters, where a dedicated team of bakers expertly craft and decorate these delicious treats.

Flapjackery Sidmouth is conveniently located at 14 Fore St, Sidmouth EX10 8AH. For more information about Flapjackery, please visit their website at www.flapjackery.co.uk.
