Rich and delicious flavours earn Flapjackery eight gold awards

Devon-based Flapjackery, which is renowned for its mouth-watering gluten-free flapjacks, has been tantalising judges at the Taste of the West awards, scooping an impressive eight golds for a variety of its products.

Eight different offerings were entered in the prestigious awards programme, and each one received the top accolade. The winning products include Orange Tiffin, Ginger Tiffin, and Cappuccino Shards, which won gold in the chocolate category; Clotted Cream Flapjack, which earned gold in both the confectionery and Free From categories; Salted Caramel Flapjack, which also won gold in the Free From category; and Millionaires and Traditional Flapjacks, which received gold in the sweet bakery and desserts category.

The Taste of the West Awards programme provides food and drink producers in the South West the opportunity to showcase their products and receive recognition for their hard work and dedication. In the last two years, Flapjackery has won 21 Gold awards, including all eight of its shops receiving the top award in 2023 (Flapjackery now has ten shops).

Flapjackery’s co-founder Carol Myott is thrilled with the results and said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won eight Gold awards in this year’s Taste of the West Awards. We are passionate about creating delicious, handmade products using the finest ingredients, and it’s fantastic to have our efforts recognized in this way.”

She added: “We have a great team working with Flapjackery, from those who run the shops, to the team back here in Tavistock who create such delicious products. It’s testament to them, and all they do to create a buzz around Flapjackery products that once again we’re celebrating gold-winning success.”

Flapjackery was founded nine years ago at Tavistock in west Devon by Carol and Sally Jenkin whose mutual love of baking encouraged them to create a business that specializes in flapjacks. There are now ten Flapjacekry shops in St Ives, Plymouth, Tavistock, Minehead, Wells, Fowey, Bath, Fordmore Farmshop near Cullompton, Sidmouth and Lymington. Two more shops in Falmouth and Dartmouth are opening this spring with more coming soon.

A thriving online business allows people who buy flapjacks at the many shows and events Flapjackery attends across the UK to continue purchasing flapjacks throughout the year.

Flapjackery flapjacks can be ordered online at www.flapjackery.co.uk.
