Flapjackery announces opening in Falmouth

Flapjackery, a beloved confectionary shop known for its delicious gluten-free flapjacks, is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its latest location in Falmouth on Friday, April 5.

To celebrate the occasion, the first one hundred customers in line will receive a special offer: they can purchase any box of flapjacks and receive a box for free. Additionally, they will have the chance to enter a draw for a year’s supply of flapjacks.

A sea shanty band will be on hand to provide lively entertainment as the doors open. The new shop, located in the heart of Falmouth, is the third Flapjackery location in Cornwall, with previous stores opening in St Ives and Fowey in 2022 and 2023 respectively. In the spirit of giving back to the community, Flapjackery will donate 50p or £1.50 for every Falmouth-specific box of three or six flapjacks sold, as well as 20p for every customer who chooses to forgo a recyclable box. The local Falmouth RNLI station will be the beneficiary of these charitable donations.

Based at Tavistock in West Devon, Flapjackery has gained a reputation for its exceptional flapjacks, which come in a variety of flavours such as Cherry Bakewell, Clotted Cream Fudge Flapjack, Cream Tea Flapjack (Cornish style), and Salted Caramel Brownie. Made with the finest British oats and toppings sourced from the West Country, these flapjacks have become a favourite among locals and visitors alike.

Carol Myott, co-founder of Flapjackery, said, “We’re thrilled to be opening in Falmouth. It’s a vibrant town with a strong mix of independent shops. We’re also pleased to be supporting Falmouth RNLI, a charity that is close to our hearts. The sea is such a draw for visitors to the region and helping to keep them safe on the water is so important.”

Flapjackery was founded in 2015 by Carol and Sally Jenkin, who met at a farmers’ market in Tavistock, Devon. They quickly realised that their flapjacks were a hit and decided to start their own business. Today, Flapjackery has grown to include an online shop, 10 retail outlets, and trade stands at shows and events across the UK. The Falmouth shop will be managed by Mark Chegwin.

In the last two years, Flapjackery has won 21 Taste of the West Gold awards, including all eight of its shops receiving the top award in 2023 (Flapjackery now has 11 shops including Falmouth); and eight gold awards in 2024 for its products.

Flapjackery Falmouth is located at 161 Church St, TR11 3DS.
