The Cornish pasty community throughout Cornwall and beyond raised a record £20,000 for the Cornish Pasty Community Fund during this year’s Cornish Pasty Week.
The money has been going directly to local schools via a funding application process and has been used for a variety of cookery initiatives including cookery clubs, school vegetable gardens, cookery equipment and ingredients and food-related field trips.
Schools from across the county have been sharing their ‘pasty smiles’ with the association to show their thanks for the funding.
The money has already supported over 30 schools, from Bude and Saltash to Penzance and the Isles of Scilly. Applications are now closed for this school year but will re-open in September.
Visit the Cornish Pasty Association for more information and details on how to apply.
