Celebrations continue for highly acclaimed Dorset-based winery and vineyard, Langham Wine Estate, after being awarded an impressive four trophies at the WineGB Awards 2024. Its Corallian Classic Cuvée NV was named ‘Best NV/MV Classic Cuvée’, its Pinot Noir 2019 won ‘Best Blanc de Noirs’ and the ‘Wessex Trophy’ while the strength of the range contributed to it being awarded ‘Best Estate Winery’.
Recognised nationally, the WineGB Awards highlight the excellence of Great Britain’s wines and wine producers. The prestigious judging panel was headed up by co-chairs Susie Barrie MW, Oz Clarke OBE, and Peter Richards MW, supported by Rebecca Palmer (Buyer of Corney & Barrow), Matthew Horsley (Buyer of The Wine Society), Giles James (Founder of ID Wines), Dan Farrell-Wright (Founder of Wickhams), Matthew Hodgson (Co-founder of Grape Britannia) and Rebecca Mitchell (Consultant, Sommelier, and Educator). The trophy winners, including the Supreme Champion, were announced at the WineGB Awards Lunch on 19th July.
Medals were announced back in June and Langham’s Corallian Classic Cuvée NV, Culver Classic Cuvée NV, Rosé NV, Blanc de Blancs NV and Pinot Noir 2019 received gold medals in the WineGB Awards, and its limited edition still Chardonnay, Search for Enlightenment 2022, earned a silver medal.

Head Winemaker at Langham Wine Estate, Tommy Grimshaw, commented: “It’s such an honour to have received four incredible accolades at the WineGB Awards 2024, alongside five gold medals and one silver medal. I have to give credit to the team at Langham, both past and present, for their hard work.”
Tommy continued: “We are dedicated to producing exceptional sparkling wines that truly represent our little patch of Dorset, only using grapes grown on our 85-acre vineyard. We believe this commitment is crucial as the English wine scene rapidly expands. We will continue our minimal intervention, traditional method approach, with the aim to produce the best English sparkling wines.”
In recent years, Langham Wine Estate has not only achieved national recognition but was also named Best Sparkling Wine Producer at the International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) in 2020.
