Mark your calendars for Wednesday, 17 October, as Indian Rasoi, the beloved Indian and Bangladeshi restaurant on Dollar Street, hosts a special charity dinner to support the Cirencester Foodbank. This delightful evening, organized by the restaurant’s owner, Roman Abu, promises a delectable set menu with all profits going to the charity.
Cirencester Foodbank, backed by The Trussell Trust, is part of a nationwide network providing emergency food and support to those in need. Last year alone, foodbanks in their network distributed over three million food supplies to people in crisis.
Roman Abu has crafted a mouth-watering three-course menu for the event, priced at just £35 per person. “Winter is just around the corner and a charity that does so much good work at this time is one we would like to support,” Roman shared. “I went to a recent talk at Aura Care Living’s Stratton Court retirement village to meet one of the foodbank team, Anton Wynn and learn more about what they do.”
Anton Wynn, head of Cirencester Foodbank, expressed his gratitude for the partnership: “We are really pleased that Roman, and the team at Indian Rasoi, have chosen to support our charity. The ongoing cost-of-living crisis has resulted in people who have never needed to turn to a foodbank before needing our support, there is no need to be proud, we are here to support everyone.”
Roman added: “The evening will be bookings only, with a set menu at £35 per person. Please join us on 17 October to show your support.”
In addition to this charitable event, Indian Rasoi is celebrating its 16th birthday during British Curry Week, from 7-13 October, with a special three-course menu.
