Circumstance Distillery unveils first aged rum

Circumstance Distillery, the award-winning innovator in craft whisky making, is excited to announce the release of their newest creation – an aged English rum.

“We are well know for our innovative approach to making whisky,” said head distiller Andrew Osborne. “We have applied the same principals to this rum.”

This rum was made from 100% South American molasses fermented on a mead yeast for 14 days. It was distilled through a copper hood and 4 plate column before being aged for 3 years in an cask that had previously held coffee bean conditioned rye whisky. It is non-chill filtered and has no additives.

“Our white rum has been available since we opened the distillery. It has been incredibly popular so we are very pleased to introduce the aged version,” said founder Liam Hirt. “Our rum has a lot of ‘funk’ as that is the style we enjoy most. In the aged rum this has softened somewhat, but the tropical fruits on the palate are complemented by the vanilla from the oak and spicey fruits from the rye.“

Established in 2018, Circumstance Distillery is a craft distillery based in Bristol, UK, known for its innovative approach to whisky making. The distillery uses organic ingredients and innovative maturation techniques to create whiskies with complex flavour profiles. As a certified B Corp and a carbon-neutral distillery, Circumstance is committed to sustainability and responsible production practices. For more information about Circumstance Distillery and the Aged Rum, please visit circumstance.com or contact: Liam Hirt liam@microdistillery.co.uk

As with all their releases this rum is available in very limited numbers. It is available from the distillery and from their website.
