Flapjackery brings a taste of British tradition to Bristol’s St Nicholas Market

Flapjackery, the beloved confectionery brand renowned for its delicious, handmade, gluten-free flapjacks, is thrilled to announce the launch of its new stall at Bristol St Nicholas Market, one of the UK’s most iconic and historic markets.

Established in 1743, St Nicholas Market is the heart of old Bristol, known for its vibrant atmosphere and diverse mix of independent retailers. It’s the living embodiment of what a market should be, where you can munch your way around the world without straying past the perimeter. Flapjackery is a fabulous addition to this Bristolian tradition, bringing a taste of Devon to the market with its delicious chunks of flapjacks perfect for those who love to snack on the go, want to take treats back to the office, or share them with friends and family. Favourite flavours like Apple and Blackcurrant, Cherry Bakewell, and Clotted Cream Fudge, all proudly gluten-free and handmade at its Tavistock bakery, will be available, alongside its array of incredible tastes that satisfy every palate.

“St Nicholas Market is a wonderful, bustling place, full of life and energy,” said Carol Myott, co-founder and director of Flapjackery. “We’re delighted to bring our flapjacks to Bristol, a city known for its vibrant culture and love of great food. It’s an honour to be part of such a historic and diverse market that truly embodies the spirit of community.”

Flapjackery was established ten years ago in Tavistock, West Devon, by co-founders Carol Myott and Sally Jenkin, who shared a passion for home baking. What began as a humble endeavour selling cakes at a local farmers’ market has grown into a thriving business with 12 shops across the UK. The Bristol St Nicholas Market stall is the first of several planned openings, which will be revealed later this year.

Despite its growth, Flapjackery remains committed to its roots. Every flapjack is still meticulously handcrafted at its Tavistock headquarters, where a dedicated team of bakers expertly craft and decorate each treat with care and creativity.
