RAVE Coffee partners with Tusk to support African-driven conservation

Cirencester-based RAVE Coffee has announced the launch of a new blend in partnership with Tusk, with £1 from every bag sold going towards the charity’s conservation efforts in Africa. Produced from top-grade Rwandan and Burundian beans, ethically sourced from a number of smallholders, the Nº 24 Tusk African Blend will be released on Tuesday 22 April.

A coffee crafted to have an impact, the medium/dark roast blend delivers a bold, balanced cup with notes of cherry, honeycomb, and cocoa. Created in collaboration with representatives from Tusk, a charity that Prince William has been Royal Patron of since 2005, the Tusk African Blend is designed to showcase the best of coffee production in Africa, while contributing to local-run conservation programmes around habitat protection, human-wildlife coexistence and environmental education.

This latest announcement sits alongside RAVE’s long-term commitment to give back to both the environment and the people that work alongside it, as the roastery continues to establish lasting partnerships with cooperatives to help improve the sustainability of farms and farming communities. 1% of all sales are also donated to environmental causes through RAVE’s 1% for the Planet commitment, regardless of profit.

Rob Hodge, co-founder of RAVE Coffee, commented: “We’re really excited to get this new blend out there – it’s a fantastic representation just how good these smallholders can be, so feels like a perfect vehicle to help raise funds for Tusk’s conservation efforts in Africa. We always have people and planet in mind as we develop our partnerships with growing communities across the world, so it’s been a great experience to work alongside Tusk on this project, and get a better understanding of what they’re doing to protect endangered species and restore habitats in Africa. We’re striving to do better every day, and collaborations like this are a great way to fuel positive change on all sides.”

Nick Bubb, CEO of Tusk, added: “We are delighted to be partnering with RAVE Coffee on their new blend of coffee, which not only showcases the exceptional quality of African beans but also directly supports Tusk’s ongoing conservation work. The funds raised will make a tangible difference to our ongoing work to protect Africa’s wildlife and uplift communities. We greatly value RAVE’s commitment to ethical sourcing and their support for Tusk’s mission.”

RAVE Coffee’s Nº 24 Tusk African Blend will be available to purchase at ravecoffee.co.uk from 22 April 2025.
