Meridian Sea takes home 2 Great Taste 2025 awards for their anchovy products

Devon based Meridian Sea has been named among the top food and drink companies this year, picking up highly prized 1- and 2-star Great Taste awards for anchovies. These are fished in the Northeast Atlantic and processed using traditional methods used by the same family for more than one hundred years.

Judged by the Guild of Fine Food’s expert panel, Anchovy Fillets with Olive oil is awarded a Great Taste 2 -star and Marinated Cantabrian Anchovy Fillets a Great Taste Great Taste 1 star in the world’s most trusted food and drink accreditation scheme

The 2-star award for Meridians Anchovy Fillets in olive oil was described by the judges as having “A firm buttery texture which melts in the mouth releasing classic, clean, pure, natural flavour of high-quality anchovies”. The 1-star award for their Marinated Cantabrian Anchovy Fillets included judge feedback of “Plumpish looking anchovy fillets, these are meaty with a delicate fish flavour and a hint of vinegar that provides a pleasing, well balanced flavour”. “We are thrilled to receive this recognition from the Great Taste Awards,” said Nigel Vogwill Meridians founder “It is a testament to the care we and our partners put into sourcing the finest seafood and producing it with skill and tradition”.

Meridian Sea has been supplying specialist seafood products for more than 25 years. During this time, they have gained a reputation for providing products that offer both flavour and quality combined with consumer value in their selection of products. Over the previous years they have gained 19 Great Taste awards.
