Exciting times in a little corner of Wiltshire where a new farm shop threw open its doors in the middle of June. Murcott Farm Shop is in the main street of Crudwell, on the site of the old Crudwell Garage, and brings beautiful local produce to the community with a deep-rooted desire to support local farmers and producers, reduce food miles and offer an antidote to the ultra-processed food that is dominating our diets.
In the build up to the grand opening, Murcott Farm Shop shared details of all the producers that will be stocking the shop with beautiful bread from Sourdough Revolution and specialist Saturday doughnuts from Pipp & Co. The coffee machine is already working overtime to keep customers well-lubricated as they shop or make use of the seating area to enjoy a bit of time out.
Sausage rolls and Scotch eggs are baked right in the village and on sale at the deli counter alongside artisan pies and takeaway salad boxes making this the perfect lunch stop off spot. An array of tempting cheeses from The Fine Cheese Co jostle for attention next to home-reared meat from Artisan Jack and fresh fish from Chalk Stream with fresh fruit and vegetables provided by Four Seasons Fruiterers. Everything is seasonal, fresh and loose or packaged in eco-friendly methods.
Store cupboard essential are featured too with homemade jams, sauces and preserves lining the minimalistic, wholesome shelves and local eggs, herbs and wellness products all giving the shop a beautiful, healthy and attractive vibe.
Open every day from 8am till 6pm except Sunday which is 10am till 4pm, we wish Murcott Farm Shop every success in its new venture. Every new farm shop that opens and receives support from its community (and passers-by) is a fantastic boost for local, hard-working producers, highlighting the value of independent businesses. Keep up the good work…
