Powderkeg expands contract brewing operation

Devon brewery Powderkeg expands its contract brewing service, adding new capacity and enhanced services for start-up and established brewers.

The newly-christened ‘Zymoko Brewing’ is SALSA-Plus Beer-Accredited and now offers a total of 40,000L fermentation capacity alongside in-house canning and kegging.

Powderkeg has been successfully contract brewing ever since it first opened its doors in 2014, producing beers for numerous brands alongside its own range. 2025 saw demand outstrip supply and now more space has been made available for the service.

Zymoko will also enhance its new product development service which has already nurtured numerous start-up brewing businesses from initial concept through to commercial and critical success. To date, the service has partnered with brewing businesses of all shapes and sizes: traditional regional breweries modernising their range; ghost brewers that need a regular, reliable supplier with dedicated volumes; and hospitality groups and farm shops requiring own-brand product.

MD John Magill, says, “Zymoko is named for the science of fermentation, but we know that brewing is also an art. No two businesses’ requirements are ever the same and we always look to reflect our customers’ specific needs and tastes. We offer flexibility, open-mindedness and creative solutions. Every brew is seen as a collaboration and your success is our success.”

With fresh capacity now available, the brewery is currently open to new enquiries. Whether you’re new to the industry, or established and looking to increase production, if you need help developing a new product or are seeking consistent, quality supply of an existing beer, Zymoko has the expertise you’re after.

The new website at www.zymoko.co.uk will be up in the coming weeks. In the meantime, you can find details via .

Powderkeg Brewery is a 20BBL brewery based just outside Exeter. Founded in 2014 by John and Jess Magill, it led the way for craft beer in Devon. Powderkeg built a reputation for their flavour packed and innovative brews, mostly highly sessionable and gluten-free. Their beers such as Speak Easy pale ale, Harmony Helles and Green Light no-alc IPA have become well established across the South West, and regularly pick up major industry awards.
