Warrens Bakery expands forecourt rollout with sixth SGN Retail site

Warrens Bakery continues its petrol forecourt expansion with the opening of a new store in SGN Retail’s BP Nisa petrol station in Frenchay Road, Frenchay, Bristol, its 47th UK bakery store.

The new location is the sixth petrol station concession for Warrens Bakery and SGN Retail, and follows the success of its five other petrol forecourt partnership sites in Calcot, Didcot, Lechlade, Ludlow and Lydney.

The new bakery will serve customers with its exceptional and affordable range of renowned hand-crimped Cornish pasties, artisan baked goods and freshly brewed hot drinks, including the 100% certified, medium hand roasted Wild Meadow coffee blend from UK roastery experts Bridge Coffee.

Warrens Bakery occupies a distinctive position in the bakery and café market, bridging the gap between value-led bakery chains and premium café bakeries. Sitting comfortably between Greggs and Gail’s, it delivers an accessible price point while offering an elevated food and coffee experience and attracting a wide demographic.

The brand was established on the cobbled streets of St. Just in Cornwall when two Cornish families, the Warrens and the Harveys, united in marriage in 1860 to share their love for baking and brought together a host of artisan baking skills. Over 160 years later, it now has 47 bakery stores in UK high streets, railway stations and roadside locations.

Warren Bakery’s CEO Mark Sullivan says, “We’re excited to launch another Warrens Bakery forecourt location, an area we are looking to grow further, and bring our much loved baked goods and world class coffee to customers on the go in Frenchay in Bristol.”

Saul Pullan from SGN Retail adds, “Our partnership with Warrens Bakery has been a real success across our petrol forecourt concessions. The new Frenchay location is a great example of how well the format works in this environment, it looks fantastic, trades strongly and delivers exactly what customers want on the move. Frenchay is our sixth location to incorporate a Warrens Bakery, building on the success of our other five locations, all of which have benefited from Warrens’ clear brand proposition, high-quality food offer and operational expertise. The Warrens Bakery team are consistently professional, responsive and easy to work with, making them a trusted partner as we continue to develop our forecourt portfolio.”
