Just outside Exeter, Greendale Farm Shop is a celebration of everything local, fresh, and delicious. This award-winning destination brings together the very best that Devon has to offer — from meat and seafood to baked goods and artisan treats.
Greendale is all about provenance. The butchers’ counter stocks top-quality, fully traceable meat, much of it from Greendale’s own farm and the fishmonger supplies an impressive daily catch, thanks to the shop’s own fishing boats bringing in fresh lobster, hake and scallops straight from the Devon coast.
The deli counter is another highlight offering local cheeses, hand-crafted pies and charcuterie. Local producers are often invited in for tasting evenings which is a fabulous way to celebrate what the region has to offer and is very popular with locals.
The bakery tempts visitors with warm loaves, cakes and scones baked fresh each day. Specialities abound with recent Easter chocolate cakes covered in mini eggs and chocolate bunnies flying off the shelves with good reason! Store cupboard essentials like eggs, chutneys, oils, clotted cream and wine (!) fill every space and ensure every customer will find what they are looking for.
The farm shop has become a real hub of the community and offers all sorts of activities throughout the year. It is the location for the local “park run” held every Saturday morning at 9am with runners of all ability turning up to complete the 5km run and then pop in for a coffee and a treat to reward themselves!
There is even a beautiful new sauna at the top of the hill behind the farm shop which can be booked for private sessions or drop-in communal sessions.
