Canned Wine Group brings its premium canned wines to Waitrose for ‘Perfect Moments’

Canned Wine Group is set to launch two new premium wines into over 250 Waitrose & Partners stores this May! Made for those ‘Perfect Moments’, the range from its Canned Wine Co. brand offers a more flexible way to enjoy high-quality wine, whether that’s a spontaneous midweek glass, a picnic in the park, or for those looking to try something new and enjoy at home without opening a full bottle.

Canned Wine Co.’s Organic Grüner from Markus Huber (Niederösterreich, Austria) leads the launch with a crisp, fresh and naturally easy profile to pair with food. It sits alongside the Oak Aged Garnacha, from esteemed winemaker Norrel Robertson, Master of Wine, bringing a softer, deeply fruit red into the mix.

Together, these two premium canned wines reflect a growing shift towards more exploratory, experience-led drinking, where consumers are looking to try new varietals or wine that is a little less obvious, without compromising on quality or committing to a full bottle.

For Canned Wine Group, the idea is simple. Giving you the chance to choose great wine, in the right format, for the moment you’re in, with ease. From quiet evenings in, to last minute hosting, the cans are designed to slot naturally into everyday occasions, offering a premium but accessible alternative to more traditional formats. That same thinking carries through even into the design, with each can created around the tasting profile of the wine itself, giving a beautifully considered visual cue of the flavour profile before it’s opened.

Alongside its focus on format, the business continues to prioritise more conscious consumption, from reducing waste through single-serve cans and other alternative formats, to wider sustainability commitments, including B Corp certification and recognition through Positive Luxury’s Butterfly Mark.

Both wines are available in selected Waitrose stores now.

Ben Franks, Co-Founder and recently appointed CEO of Canned Wine Group, comments on this milestone achievement for the team: “This launch into Waitrose is a big moment for us, and an exciting step in bringing the brand to a wider audience. We’ve always been focused on those smaller, more spontaneous drinking occasions, the ‘Perfect Moments’ where people still want a great glass of wine, just without opening a full bottle. Our Grüner really captures that. It’s fresh, versatile and easy to drink, and it fits naturally into how people are choosing to enjoy wine now, especially heading into summer.”
