Gullivers Farm Shop, Dorset

On the B3072 in West Moors, signed from Three-Legged Cross (a Dorset landmark!) just outside of Ferndown, Gullivers Farm Shop is a much-loved destination for anyone who cares about good food and where it comes from. Part of the growing Gullivers Eco Farm project, the shop is more than just a place to stock up on groceries — it’s a community hub that captures the heart of sustainable, local living all whilst providing support and opportunities to adults with varying support needs.

With plenty of parking and nearby nature walks, this is local shopping made easy. The brightly painted wooden doors are flung open in a wide, welcoming gesture and when you step inside you are greeted by shelves brimming with fresh, seasonal produce straight from Dorset’s fields. The fruit and vegetables are vibrant and full of flavour, with much of it grown on Gullivers’ own land or sourced from nearby farms. The butchery counter offers locally reared meats — grass-fed beef, free-range pork, and tender lamb.

The farm shop’s deli and bakery sections tempt visitors with handmade pies, freshly baked bread, and local cheeses that tell their own stories of Dorset’s rich food heritage. There’s even a range of jams, chutneys, ciders and craft beers, all produced by small local makers who share Gullivers’ commitment to quality and sustainability.

But the ethos here goes deeper than what’s on the shelves. Gullivers champions ethical farming, local employment and zero waste practices. Their guiding principle is that food should be good for people, good for the planet and good for the local economy. The team works hard to ensure that as little as possible goes to waste, using clever composting, eco packaging and responsible sourcing at every stage.

Locals say it’s not just the produce that keeps them coming back — it’s the friendly faces and community spirit. Whether you’re chatting with the butcher about the best cut for Sunday roast or swapping recipe ideas at the till, there’s a warmth and authenticity that makes shopping here genuinely enjoyable.

Whether you pop in for the fresh milk shakes, the free-range eggs, a cup of strong coffee or a freshly baked sausage roll – or all of the above, you will not regret it!
