Sharpham Cheese celebrates double success: Savour and Ticklemore achieve prestigious Great Taste 3-Star rating

Sharpham Cheese has achieved a remarkable double win in the 2026 Great Taste Awards, with its Savour and Ticklemore both receiving the heralded 3-star rating. This double 3-star success follows the dairy’s previous triumph with their Cremet, which secured the 3-star rating in 2023, further cementing Sharpham’s reputation for consistent, world-class cheesemaking. This exceptional accolade places both products firmly in the top tier of the largest and most trusted food and drink awards on the planet.

Sharpham Cheese – Savour

Following the announcement on Tuesday 28th July, the panel of expert judges identified both Savour and Ticklemore as ‘exquisite’ and ‘extraordinary’- the highest praise in the competition’s rigorous blind taste tests. Out of 15,038 entries entered from across the world, only 2% received 3 Great Taste Award stars.

Savour, a mixed milk cheese is handmade with cow’s and goat’s milk in small batches. Combining the milk produces a sweet, mellow flavour with a smooth texture achieved by washing the curds. It is based on a young French Savoie-style cheese with a rich and creamy flavour, a slight tang. Savour was launched to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Sharpham Cheese – Ticklemore

Ticklemore, a semi-hard cheese is handmade from pasteurised Devon goat’s milk. It’s loved for its light, gently lemony flavour with herbaceous notes and a white bloomy mould.

Greg Parsons, co-owner of Sharpham Cheese, says: “To have Savour and Ticklemore recognised at this level is absolutely phenomenal. We are incredibly proud of our team – this double 3-star achievement is a testament to the hard work that goes into our high-quality products, from the farmers who supply our milk to the cheesemakers who craft it. Great Taste is revered for its experienced and knowledgeable judges, so receiving such high praise for two of our cheeses is a true honour.”

Greg & Nicky Parsons

Nicky Parsons, co-owner of Sharpham Cheese adds, “Following our success with Cremet, seeing Savour and Ticklemore join the 3-star hall of fame is a proud moment for all of us at the dairy. It reflects our commitment to excellence and innovation, ensuring that every batch we produce meets the high standards our customers have come to expect.”

Sharpham Cheese has entered the Great Taste Golden Forks awards for Better Business and Sustainability Award. The winners of these categories and the Supreme Champion will be announced at the ceremony on 15th September in Battersea.

Sharpham Cheese is the first cheese dairy in the UK to achieve B Corp status, handcrafting their cheeses using milk from their own herd of Jersey cows, alongside goat’s and ewe’s milk from their West Country neighbours.
