Flapjackery enters premium ice cream market with new retail flapjack dessert range

Multi award-winning Devon bakery Flapjackery has expanded its product portfolio with the launch of a new range of handcrafted ice cream desserts, developed in collaboration with fellow multi award-winning Devon producer Granny Gothards.

The new collection marks Flapjackery’s first move into the premium ice cream dessert category, extending one of Britain’s best-known artisan flapjack brands into an exciting new market.

Each dessert combines Flapjackery’s signature all butter flapjack with Granny Gothards’ award-winning milk ice cream to create a layered dessert inspired by some of the company’s bestselling flavours.

The new range expands Flapjackery’s product offering, giving customers another way to enjoy the brand both in selected Flapjackery shops and at home.

The initial range comprises three varieties:

  • Chocolate Millionaire’s – Layers of rich caramel sauce and milk chocolate flakes.
  • Raspberry & White Chocolate – Sweet raspberry compote with delicate white chocolate flakes.
  • Apple & Blackcurrant – Bramley apple and blackcurrant compote.

Every dessert begins with an all butter flapjack crumble base before being layered with Granny Gothards’ award-winning milk ice cream and finished with carefully selected ingredients, including artisan fruit compotes from fellow Devon producer Waterhouse Fayre and a signature crumbled flapjack topping.

Available in individual 240ml tubs, the desserts contain only natural ingredients with no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.

Launching initially through Flapjackery shops in Padstow, Lymington, Tavistock and Dartmouth, where customers individual pots, customers will also be able to purchase either boxes of four in a single flavour or mixed boxes of six, containing two of each variety online. The launch reflects Flapjackery’s continued investment in product innovation while remaining true to its artisan roots.

Carol Myott, co-founder of Flapjackery, said: “At Flapjackery we’re always looking for ways to surprise our customers while staying true to what makes our flapjack so special. Partnering with Granny Gothards was an obvious choice. They’re one of Britain’s finest artisan ice cream makers and share our passion for quality and craftsmanship. Together we’ve created something that’s indulgent, unlike anything we’ve created before and a wonderful celebration of the very best of Devon. and celebrates the very best of Devon.”

Amanda Ringelberg, founder of Granny Gothards, added: “This has been a wonderful collaboration between two businesses that are passionate about creating premium artisan food. Our award-winning milk ice cream allows Flapjackery’s distinctive flavours to shine through, creating a dessert that’s both innovative and delicious.”

Alongside the launch of the take-home collection, Flapjackery has also introduced a menu of handcrafted ice cream desserts in selected shops, giving customers another way to experience the new range.
