The Longstore opens new restaurant in Truro

The team behind Cornwall’s popular steaks and seafood restaurant in Charlestown is set to open their second site – The Longstore Lemon Street – in Truro from 17th May 2021.

Bringing their signature buzzy dining experience to Cornwall’s capital and ‘locally sourced, big on flavour’ philosophy – this new restaurant will specialise in dry-aged steaks & flavoursome fish dishes as well as an extensive cocktail offering from the bar.

Spanning over three floors including an intimate private dining room, the Georgian townhouse has been extensively renovated and now boasts plenty of stylish seating areas for date nights, family meals, drinks with friends & business meetings.

The Lemon Street launch is the newest addition to the growing Longstore portfolio – in an exciting and natural evolution of the brand – following the runaway success of The Longstore Charlestown, which launched in 2016.

The family-run business, quietly shaking up Cornwall’s food scene, specialise in quality steaks, big-cuts and seafood specials – with an equal passion for vegetarian and vegan dishes, combined with an innovative cocktail offering to match. Executive chefs Will Spurgeon and Matt Liddicoat have developed the new Lemon Street menu with creative input from Head Chef Andrew Basso, Fifteen Watergate Bay alumni.

Diners can expect flavoursome starters including chargrilled flat iron steak bruschetta, punchy house made ‘Nduja risotto & fresh and vibrant peach burrata with shaved fennel. Mains of course revolve around Cornish steak including impressive big cuts ranging from 18oz sirloins to 40oz+ tomahawk ribeye and seafood dishes including crab & squid ink linguine as well as whole fish options.

Director and co-owner John Marquis says “We’re very excited to be opening The Longstore Lemon Street in Truro. It’s a special site to us full of charm & history and we are looking forward to adding our unique style to Truro’s evolving line up of food and drink establishments.”

The Longstore Lemon Street will be open for dinner seven nights a week, Saturday brunch and Sunday lunches from May 17th. Advance bookings are recommended and will sit within the current Government guidance (at least until June 21st, 2021).
