Dartmouth Farmers’ Market featured in The Times

The Coastal Kitchen are delighted to have had their Farmers’ Market featured in The Times Weekend Supplement (Saturday August 14th) as one of the best alfresco places to shop in the UK, as you can see at www.thetimes.co.uk/article/the-best-food-markets-in-the-uk-shop-alfresco.

“We only set this initiative up earlier this year, so we are delighted to be mentioned alongside such illustrious events as Borough Market and the Oxford Covered Market”, says Julie Graham, one half of The Coastal Kitchen.

Helen Lloyd, the other half of the duo is equally as pleased. “We worked really hard to get this off the ground and have been so chuffed with the support we’ve got from our producers, the Town Council, the local community and all our happy shoppers! We hope that the article in The Times will allow the market to go from strength to strength and we are looking forward to starting work on the other exciting plans we have for the event”.

Set in Dartmouth’s picturesque Old Market Square in the heart of the town, the market is held on the second Saturday of each month and offers a wide range of artisan products including locally grown and milled flour, sourdough bread, Dartmoor honey, home-made cakes, savoury goods and locally reared meat as well as home-grown plants and flowers.

The Coastal Kitchen was conceived during lockdown by two friends (Helen Lloyd & Julie Graham), who are keen to promote the amazing food and drink in the local area. Both have been involved in the organisation of the Dartmouth Food Festival for many years, and Julie is currently a Director of the event.
