BrewDog opens bar in Bath with Cheltenham to follow

Scottish brewer and retailer BrewDog has opened a new site in Bath. The bar is in the former Absurd Bird restaurant premises in the SouthGate shopping centre.

It features 28 taps of draught beer including offerings from other craft breweries as well as canned and bottled beers to drink in or take away.

The bar will also feature BrewDog’s menu of burgers, wings and salads plus a weekend brunch.

BrewDog co-founder James Watt said: “Thanks to our amazing team for all of their hard work in making this new, beautiful location happen. With BrewDog Bath, we continue to create many new real living wage jobs in the UK. All of our team also share 10% of our profits via our Unicorn Fund. And, of course, like everything we do, the new bar is carbon negative.”

The brewer has also secured a site in Cheltenham, taking a lease on a former Frankie & Benny’s restaurant in The Brewery Quarter. The planning application, submitted to Cheltenham Borough Council, shows a large open plan commercial area at the front of the unit with “practically the same internal layout” as the previous restaurant.

BrewDog recently opened their craft beer hotel – DogHouse Manchester – just off Market Street.
