Bristol pizza restaurant plans new delivery-focused concept in former salon

Bristol-based Bosco Pizzeria on Whiteladies Road is working on a smaller, takeaway and delivery-centred pizza outlet called Pizzucci.

The business, which includes former Wagamama chief executive Steve Hill, is reported by Bristol Live to be looking to open a new site in a former tanning salon on Gloucester Road. This follows the opening of a Bosco in Bath in the summer and the second site in Clifton’s Regent Street which operated as a takeout in the pandemic and is now undergoing a refit.

The new Pizzucci site will have around 40 covers and be more focused on takeout and delivery. According to Propel, the company – led by Miles Johnson – will open another Bosco site in December at the Quadrangle complex in Cheltenham. It will include an open kitchen with a wood-fired pizza oven.

Inspired by “the best pizzerias of Naples and New York City”, Bosco’s menu includes small plates, salads, Italian cured meats, Italian cheese, pizza rossa, and pizza bianca as well as pasta dishes and large plates such as Venetian fisherman’s stew, ribollita and porchetta.
