Gloucester Food Dock appoints new Manager

Gloucester Food Dock, the exciting new £3.5m waterfront dining destination, has announced the appointment of self-professed foodie Lucie Wardingley as the development’s new Manager as it prepares to open later this summer.

Lucie, who has a wealth of experience in Gloucestershire’s food and hospitality sector having worked at some of the county’s most well-known pubs and restaurants, also ran her own event catering businesses Canape to Cake and the ‘Box Fresh’ street food trailer.

“Food is definitely where my heart is so I’m delighted to be joining the team at such an exciting time,” comments Lucie. “Gloucester Food Dock will not only offer an eclectic mix of some of the best independent food businesses in the region, but it will also provide a platform and a step up for those small artisan operators ready to make the move to the next level.”

“Having run my own food businesses, I understand the needs and requirements of smaller operators – and the many demands placed on them,” she adds. “I’m now looking forward to working with our members to create and deliver some amazing food as well as a real sense of community at Gloucester Food Dock. It’s really important to me that we now share these wonderful hidden talents!
”

Gloucester Food Dock has been described as a new neighbourhood for the city where a community of creative, passionate and skilled food and drink businesses will have the opportunity to showcase what they do best. The net result will be a new and exciting ‘foodie’ destination in the heart of the city with a dynamic mix of tasty, independently produced food with something for everyone – coffee, brunch, lunch or dinner, seven days a week.

The development will be home to up to 15 independent food and drink businesses drawn from Gloucester and the surrounding regions. The waterfront development, overlooking Victoria Basin at the bottom of Southgate Street, extends and refurbishes two 19th century brick buildings, and will incorporate external dining terraces and stand-alone wooden-clad units to create a range of premises of different sizes and configurations.

Sarah Mansfield, co-founder of Gloucester Food Dock, commented: “Lucie brings her valuable experience of running food businesses at all levels to the role and is a great addition to our team. We are very much looking forward to working together as we prepare to bring this exciting new addition to Gloucester’s food scene to life!”
