Easter fun – and food – ahead at Abbotsbury attractions!

A fun spotters’ trail, a celebration of the best of Dorset’s food and drink and the chance to see a fine collection of vintage and veteran cars are all part of the Easter celebrations ahead at Abbotsbury Swannery and Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens.

School holiday visitors to the Swannery – where the swans are already busy laying their eggs – will be able to take part in the trail, with entrants in with a chance of winning a family season ticket to the attraction, worth £89.95.

All ages can take part from 9th – 24th April and the trail sheet is free to collect for anyone with a Swannery entrance ticket. Fill it in when special sights and wildlife are spotted and everyone who completes the trail will get a special Spotter’s sticker.

Easter Saturday, 16th April, kickstarts Dorset’s Food & Drink season this year at Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens with the Abbotsbury Food Fair. In association with Dorset Food & Drink, a fantastic collective of makers and food producers will be on hand from 10am to 4pm, with the chance to meet the people who make, bake, brew, farm, grow, cook, milk, preserve and pickle a wonderful selection of foodie treats.

With around 30 stalls, it’s the perfect opportunity to shop for a wide selection of delicious products and artisan crafts. Entry to the Food Fair is £7 for adults and £5 for children and entry includes access to the Subtropical Gardens.

Fans of four wheels will be in their element on Easter Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday, 17 and 18 April, when Transport of Yesteryear members show off their collection of classic, vintage and veteran motor vehicles in the Gardens. A Garden entry ticket provides access to the display, at no extra cost.

Martin Alderman, Abbotsbury Tourism General Manager, says: “We have something for everyone this Easter! It’s the perfect time of year to visit the Swannery and complete the trail as the swans are nesting and laying their eggs ahead of the arrival of the first cygnets of 2022. The Food Fair on Easter Saturday will again be a wonderful day out for foodies and classic car fans will love the display on the Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday. And for anyone visiting both the Swannery and the Gardens, we take 25 percent off the ticket price!”
